B57 Blade Wheel Belt

Compared to other blade wheel belts, B57 is designed to withstand more pressure for longer. The top layer of the belt stays in shape for longer as it is made from hardened material that doesn’t wear off as quickly as other belts do.

How often should a B57 blade wheel belt be changed?

Estimated life if proper maintenance and operation procedures are followed: 500 hours. Due to the many variables which exist during sawmill operation, actual part life may vary significantly.

To prolong the life of your blade wheel belt for Wood-Mizer sawmill or resaw, remove any excess sawdust from the blade wheel housing and chute every time when changing blade.

It is important to use a proper belt for your blade wheels, as its main functions are:

• to make sure that the blade doesn’t touch steel blade wheels which considerably increases the life of blades and prevents from cracking,
• to make sure that blades do not slide off blade wheels which allows for a perfect cut, prolongs the life of blade guide wheels and increases work safety.

When blade starts sliding off the blade wheels, you will not be able to produce perfect cut. If a blade will slide off blade wheel it will most probably get damaged and might injure the operator.
